Winter has arrived and with it the wet weather. We have some top tips to ensure your split system aircon keeps you warm this winter and continues to run smoothly for next summer.

Clean and replace filters

Your aircon’s filter is designed to catch dust and small debris. This prevents your aircon from clogging up and ensures you and your family aren’t breathing contaminants in. So, it’s important to ensure your filter works properly.
Your aircon’s filter should be cleaned every two weeks to two months and replaced every six to twelve months to ensure your split system aircon is working properly. If your filters are clogged up, your aircon can be affected.

Air quality

A clogged aircon filter can begin to release dust into the air, contaminating the air quality of your home. This can aggravate asthma and hay fever.

Mould and mildew

The debris trapped in your aircon filter can grow mould and mildew if not cleaned or replaced often enough, if you notice a musty smell, it’s time for an aircon service.
