Someone from CrispAir comes to the house, takes measurements properly, and asks how each room actually gets used through the day. No clipboard at the door at 7pm in January. No phone quotes ever.

Apply when the design is right
Better Air’s application takes about 10 minutes if you verify income through online bank statements, or 20 to 30 minutes if you’d rather upload payslips. Decision the same day. There’s no rush at this step.

Install on a date you actually wanted
We turn up, fit the system, set up the controller, and clean up before we leave. The autumn calendar has more flex than the November one, which is the entire reason this conversation makes sense in May.

Why ducted, when you have a minute to think about it
One decision, made once
The version of the house with five wall splits hanging off the brickwork is five small decisions made in five different summers, each one made in a hurry. Ducted is one decision, made calmly, with one controller doing the lot.
Quieter at the source
The compressor lives outside. The indoor unit sits in the ceiling cavity. Nothing humming on the bedroom wall at 2am, which matters more in year three than in week one.
Zoning means you stop paying to heat empty rooms
Cool the bedrooms at night and leave the lounge off. Warm the bathroom and kitchen on Sunday morning and leave the rest alone. The system runs the rooms you’re in, not the ones the cat is sleeping in.

The questions everyone asks
Why is autumn a better time to buy than summer?
Installer calendars in autumn have room. The same installers in November are booked solid for six weeks because everyone in Perth suddenly remembers their aircon is broken on the first hot day. The offer is the same. The calendar isn’t.
Does ducted aircon actually heat a Perth home properly in winter?
Yes. Hisense reverse-cycle ducted is the same system in winter as in summer. It pulls warm air out of the outside air, even when the outside air is cold, and pushes it through the ceiling vents. Perth winters are well within the operating range.
What’s the catch with the interest-free offer?
Hisense is paying Better Air for the interest, because they want their system in Australian homes and have decided subsidising the loan is cheaper than discounting the unit. The catch, such as it is, is that the offer ends when Hisense decides it ends, and the installer calendar is fuller in summer than in autumn.
Will the Better Air application affect my credit score?
A finance application typically leaves a credit enquiry on your file, which can have a small short-term effect. Better Air’s pre-approval and full application processes are described on their site. Confirm the exact treatment with the Better Air team before applying if it’s a concern.
How long does the install actually take?
Most CrispAir-installed Hisense ducted systems are fitted in a single day, with the team arriving in the morning and leaving in the afternoon. Larger or trickier layouts can run to a second day. The estimator confirms the timeline at the in-home assessment, not before.
Do you remove the old aircon when you install the new one?
Yes. Removal and responsible disposal of the old system is included in the install quote. We take the unit and the packaging from the new install with us when we leave.
